NB: "Halloween III" was by intention nothing to do with Michael Myers with John Carpenter having decided to take the Halloween franchise off on a different path of each one being a different scary story. But when "Halloween III" failed at the box office his plans were scrapped and the return of Michael Myers was planned for the next movie. Having said that there are some very loose connections in "Halloween III" as there is an advert for the original "Halloween" shown briefly on a TV screen and Jamie Lee Curtis is the voice of a phone operator.

NB. So basically when we got Halloween H20 it wiped out Halloween 3, 4, 5 and 6 ignoring everything which happened in those movies. But that wasn't always the plan and there had been a scene written which would have tied in the character of Jamie Lloyd and what happened in the previous Halloween movies in to the story except it was decided it would over complicate things and so the decision was taken to just ignore those previous movies.

8 - Halloween Resurrection (2002)

So ends the original series of Halloween movies which were a rollercoaster of good and bad yet even those bad movies are strangely entertaining when you watch the entire series in a horror-thon. Of course then we have had Rob Zombie's reimagining of the original "Halloween" with a lot more graphic violence and a bit of a different focus, Zombie also gave us a sequel to his re-imagining of "Halloween" which the less said about that the better as it is just a violent turkey. As for the future there are still rumours of a third new Halloween movie in the making but as of writing nothing seems to be set in stone.

It is also worth mentioning that if you do a search for various characters such as Laurie Strode, Michael Myers, and Dr. Sam Loomis you will find a fair few other Halloween movies such as "Happy Halloween 3". Don't be fooled as these are fan films, shorts and various other unofficial off shoots which in fairness I haven't watched but I am sure if any were any good we would know about them.
