Jane Seymour in Perfectly Prudence (2011)

Revenge is a Dish Served by Prudence

Prudence MacIntyre (Jane Seymour) is very protective of her TV show which offers advice and household tips with technician, Nigel (Matt Jones), and her daughter Annie (Katherine Flynn) being the only ones she trusts. Trouble is the network has just been brought out and the new owner has put his son Michael (Adam Kaufman) and executive Jack Jameson (Joe Lando) in charge of revamping the series which makes things interesting as Prue and Jack were once an item. But the revamp also comes with some surprises which includes a co-host in Angelica Adams (Valerie Azlynn) a bikini clad weather girl who is much younger than Prue and the annoying fact that the slimy Michael takes a shine to Annie.

What happens when you put Jane Seymour and Joe Lando in a Hallmark movie? Well for some there will be this buzz because they watched them back in their "Dr. Quinn" days and like to see them playing former lovers who whilst bickering still have a spark between them. But for others who weren't big fans of "Dr. Quinn" well of course this has a pretty typical storyline as whilst Jack still carries a flame for Prudence we have the devious Michael who plans to seduce Annie to get her to do things when it comes to the show. And of course we have Jack realising this and trying to be protective of Annie and ending up bonding with her like a daughter. As I said it is all typical stuff but fun in a light hearted way.

But whilst "Perfectly Prudence" is fun with Prudence, Annie and Nigel working together to prevent Michael from messing up the show it is a movie which is all about the actors. As such we have the chemistry between Jane Seymour and Joe Lando which really is good but we also have the humour of Matt Jones and the likeable nature of Jatherine Flynn. Although Valerie Azlynn's intentionally over the top performance as Angelica is a scene stealer, and surprisingly enjoyable for being so full ridiculously over the top.

What this all boils down to is that "Perfectly Prudence" is really just a fun Hallmark movie which is a pleasant distraction but nothing more although a big bonus is the chemistry which Jane Seymour and Joe Lando clearly have.
