Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 (2012)

Vampires, Werewolves & Nessie

With Bella (Kristen Stewart) now a vampire she has to learn to control her new gifts which are much more powerful than Edward (Robert Pattinson) ever imagined whilst they have to find some way to explain their daughter Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy) to Bella's dad. But when Alice (Ashley Greene) gets a vision that the Volturi are coming having been tipped off about a child the Cullens must call out to vampires across the world to help them out and witness that Renesmee is not a threat. The question is? Is there any way for the Cullens to convince the Volturi that she will never be a threat.

Can I ask how in the name of all things can a movie which sees a huge violent scene where people die and their heads get torn off warrant just a 12 certificate? Yes I know these "Twilight" movies are fantasy but seriously it has a protracted action scene with serious violence which should have been given a 15 certificate. Then again maybe "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" deserved an even higher certificate as it may have saved some people from wasting their time on it as it is utterly ridiculous.

Taylor Lautner in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 (2012)

Look over the course of the "Twilight" movies I have defended those which were good and criticized those which were bad and this final movie is drawn out nonsense starting with an extended series of scenes about Bella and her gifts which includes a hilariously unconvincing sprint through the forest in a blue dress. And then there are the scenes about their daughter Renesmee or as Jacob refers to her "Nessie" and we have a creepy looking CGI-animated baby, I think that baby is the closest these movies have come to real horror.

But then there is more because after a drawn out set up with Alice receiving a vision of the Volturi we get another series of drawn out scenes revolving around the Cullens calling on their friends to support them when the Volturi arrive. It goes on and on and then when the Volturi show up we not only get the seriously not 12 violence but we get a "Dallas" shower scene moment... for those who have no idea what I am on about ask your parents or grandparents and they will tell you what I mean. But it makes it an utter joke as does the nonsense scene which finishes the movie which feels like a Twilight music video with all the romantic bits of Bella and Edward's relationship.

What this all boils down to is that "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" is a really sucky way to finish the hit and miss franchise. Maybe those who got hooked on all the gushy vampire romance forever stuff loved it but for anyone else it is simply drawn out bad which feels like a ploy to suck the last bit of cash out of the public by giving them a final movie which had roughly 30 minutes of story and 90 minutes of nonsense.
