Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore (2010)

Kiddy Cats & Dogs

After causing yet another incident Diggs finds himself forced in to retirement and sent to the kennels. But it is there he is approached by Butch who want to recruit him for their spy organization. The reason being is that Kitty Galore, formerly an agent for cat spy organization MEOWS, has gone rogue and has come up with a dastardly plan to not only bring down her canine enemies but also her former colleagues. Now the cats & dogs are going to have to do the unthinkable, join forces to save the world from Kitty Galore.

Prior to watching "Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore" I had to remind myself as to what I thought about "Cats & Dogs" and even then I couldn't remember the movie. In truth it doesn't surprise me that I struggle to remember "Cats & Dogs" as what I wrote basically said it was fine for young children but offered up little in the way of entertainment for adults. And I know that I am going to struggle to remember "Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore" as well because again this is a movie aimed for children with little for adults to be amused by.

In truth that is a bit of a lie as "Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore" is littered with other movie references from the obvious James Bond references to familiar music riffs. In fact I have to say that I am kind of impressed by the number of well known actors that the producers manager to sign up to voice various characters, many of which I am sure the intended young audience won't even recognize. But despite these elements the level of the humour, which includes dogs sniffing butts is for a young audience who will probably also enjoy some of the more freaky effects to make animals look like they are talking.

What this all boils down to is that I can repeat what I said about "Cats & Dogs" when it comes to "Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore"; it is a good movie for children and an imaginative one at that which has plenty of energy, colour and comedy to keep them amused. But for me it lacks that something extra which will keep parents entertained at the same time.
