DJ Qualls in Road Trip: Beer Pong (2009)

Copious Beer Required

Kyle Edwards (DJ Qualls) now gives guided tours of the college of Ithica and it is during one of these tours that he tells his audience about a famous road trip. When Andy's (Preston Jones) girlfriend transfers to his University his friends persuade him to go on a road trip to the National Beer Pong tournament and to track down a former girlfriend in the process.

When I say I have watched worse that is only a very shallow compliment and the only one I can give "Road Trip: Beer Pong" a movie which rehashes the first movie with no attempt to improve on it. Now in fairness the first "Road Trip" was surprisingly enjoyable thanks to an okay cast, some okay humour and well to be honest coming out at the right time all of which is lacking from "Road Trip: Beer Pong".

Now I am not going to waste time going in to detail as "Road Trip: Beer Pong" doesn't deserve detail other than we get various juvenile escapades on a road trip which are meant to entertain through either sex jokes, crude jokes or body fluid jokes. It is basically what you are expecting but sadly nothing more with almost every joke feeling like a weak imitation of a joke from the first movie.

But in truth what "Road Trip: Beer Pong" lacks is cast likeability as the likes of Breckin Meyer and Amy Smart were likeable whilst the likes of Seann William Scott and DJ Qualls were funny and they made "Road Trip" work. But we get none of that here, DJ Qualls returns but only in a cameo role whilst the rest of cast are forgettable and sadly lack the likeability.

What this all boils down to is that "Road Trip: Beer Pong" is not the worst movie in the world but it is a poor rehash of the first movie with only a couple of scenes which are genuinely funny.
