Ann Michelle in Virgin Witch (1972)

Verging on the Tedious

After spotting an advert in a magazine for Sybil Waite's (Patricia Haines) modelling agency, Christine (Ann Michelle) applies and accompanied by her sister Betty (Vicki Michelle) head off to a country estate for a modelling assignment. But it seems that Sybil has lured Christine there under false pretences as they are looking for a virgin to join their witch's coven. But much to their surprise Christine is extremely keen to join.

Okay so "Virgin Witch" features a witch's coven operating out of a stately home whilst using a modelling agency as a front for recruiting nubile virgins. That is it, that is the extent of the storyline in "Virgin Witch" and we never get any real explanation as to the motivations of anyone, be it those who are already witches to Christine who seems overly keen for an innocent to take part in the activities of those at this stately home.

What that means instead is that "Virgin Witch" ends up all about sisters Ann and Vicki Michelle getting their kit off which to be honest seems to happen in nearly every single scene with Ann Michelle appearing to spend more time out of her clothes than in them. Now as I was only born in 1972 I have no idea how audiences felt about this back then but now it makes it an incredibly tedious exploitation movie which I wouldn't be surprised if those who were involved in it would rather forget about.

What this all boils down to is that maybe in 1972 "Virgin Witch" with its nudity entertained a certain audience but now it comes across as an incredibly week exploitation movie with nothing really other than nudity to entertain.
