It doesn't take long to for you to realise that "Till the Clouds Roll By" is going to be a movie about Kern's music as we are taken back to the 27th December 1927 and the opening night of "Show Boat". What follows is almost 20 minutes of songs from the musical, 6 in total which whilst entertaining also feels excessive.
